hi,

how can i watch out the users who accessed my computer or tried to access my computer on LAN?
is there any utility available?
any help will be appreciated.

Turn on security auditing (run: secpol.msc). You can also activate auditing on files and folder from folder properties (security,advanced,auditing). After that look for event viewer and security log to see audit reports.

i tried run: secpol.msc but it does not work. each time i get error.

I think secpol requires admin rights to run. Did you use administrator or other admin user account?

yes i am using administrator account.
but still secpol is not executing.

Are you sure you have XP Pro instead of Home Edition?

it si windows XP professional. with service pack 2.

Usually if you install a firewall it should show what packets have been sent to your PC?

Open gpedit.msc and go to:

Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Audit policy
