Hello,
I am trying to create a desktop navigator that has a HTML page located on a drive (Not the web). This page opens links to the internet as well as some .exe files. I am having a problem with one final application. My page must link to ArcMap projects so that when I click on map 'xyz' it will open itself in ArcMap. I have pointed my links to the projects but when I press the flash button I am given a choice of opening the file or saving it. If I choose open, ArcMap will not load. If I choose save then the file will save to my desktop (even though it's on d: drive) and then I am given an option to open it and it works fine (this would be a last resort work around but I would prefer not to go this way). If I type the computer name and file location into the navigation bar of Internet Explorer the file opens fine. My question is why will the file open properly if I type the address into the Nav bar but it will not open when my flash button points to the exact same location?

I have also tried this project using FireFox as the navigator and it will open my maps using ArcMap but it won't open a lot of my other page i.e. anything with an .exe extension.

I will be very grateful if someone has a solution for me.

Thanks.
