Hi
I created the share folder on my windows 2003 server. There are two computers which installed windows XP professional and the same work group with windows 2003 server. One of the computers can access share folder easily but other can't access without administrator username and password. How can i fix the setting for this computer as i don't want to type username and password for that computer every time.
Thank you.

Hi
Thank you for sending this link. But i could not get the exact answer. My point is user from windows XP can access the share folder in windows 2003. But everytime, when the user access this folder, i put the password as it always ask for password to enter into the share folder. How can i avoid this to let the user access the share folder without password?

I'm not an expert in file/folder sharing, but there's gotta be a way for you to remove password protection from your Administrator Account position.

I assume you use simple workgroup and not domain. You have to define that user account to win2003 with same password. Then the user can access shared files from win2003 without giving username and password. You can use also security settings to prevent that user account to logon locally on win2003 if you like. If the user has private password, he or she must change it on win2003 same time when he/she changes it on WXP.

Yes. I used simple workgroup and not domain. But other computers which used to connect with this simple workgroup can access the share folder without password. That's why i doubt that should i whether need to adapt something in the security setting or fire wall setting or not? Because i thought that something for security reason may protect this XP computer in accessing share folder. But i don't know where should i check it. If you have some idea, please advise me.Thank you.
