Internet Lag (WXP-Pro)

this might be my internet connection but my for some reason my computer lags. sometimes it will even completely lose internet connection and i would have to reset both my router and modem. whenever it lags the internet takes a while to load and then i would have to click the button a few times so it would go faster.

any suggestions as to how i'm supposed to fix this lag problem?
