Hi,
New here. Great tips and info!!
Though I'm running XPpro on my main PC, I recently acquired an old PC running Win98. Looking through various tweaks, I saw this one for changing the registry checker settings:

I'm wondering if someone can tell me the benefits of saving backups (of the registry, as well as the WIN.INI, and CONTROL.INI files) to the root directory rather than to the default folders...?
