I thought I read somewhere that said depending on which shortcut key you use, the browser will add http://www.________.com, http://www.________.edu, http://www.________.org, or http://www.________.net to whatever you type on the URL. For example, if I type google and you do a Ctrl+Enter, the browser will automatically interprets as http://www.google.com. The problem I have is I don't remember which shortcut is for adding the .net, .org, and .edu. Your help is much appreciated.

I don't think there are other shortcuts than adding www+com. I remember reading that there is registry setting to make IE to add another suffix than com. But ctrl+enter is still used as shortcut and you cannot add com anymore. Therefore I didn't try the registry trick.
