is it possible to place the "run command window" as a shortcut on my desktop or desktop toolbar?

Yes. Simply copy and paste the shortcut found in Start, All Programs, Accessories. I have mine pinned to the Start menu.

ty for your input..however,i geuss i didnt specify what i was talking bout. i meant the "run" command at the start-run. however,during my recent web surfing i have found a way to put this shortcut on my desktop. it works great,and i no longer need to go to start and then run. is just a simple click on an icon. ty for your help,is much appreciated :)

I think is faster the keyboard shortcut: 'Windows key' + R

if you were as out of sink as i am at typing that is,then you might find it easier just clicking on the icon. i can never remember where all thah letters are on the keyboard...lol..brain cramp or what..but im sure yah right, for most people it would be easier to just hit thah windows key+r. me..i like icons. ty

It would have been nice of you to post the solution you found to put the Run dialog box on the Desktop for others to see.

i apologize for my ignorance for not posting this tweak,or shortcut. i am new at this site,so please bare with me. anyway,here is the shortcut for the run command on windows desktop....

open notepad and type this exactly as you see it..

(new ActiveXObject("Shell.Application")).Filerun()

go to file,click "save as". when the save box appears type in the file name as (Run.js) without the parentheses. save the file in any folder such as my documents..click ok. then go to my documents,find the java script file you made,right click it,properties,set as desktop shortcut. it will appear on your desktop. you can also change the icon to the original one for the run command...right click icon-properties-change icon. this shortcut may not work for some windows, but it did mine..ty,hope this helps someone whos been looking for this shortcut.
