View Full Version : DOES WINDOWS RECOGNISE UNIX PARTITIONS (All)

i have linux on my system but whenever i install any windows OS, my linux is erased or not recognised? vice-versa works i.e linux recognise windows partitions. is it true? or can we modify registry to identify unix partitions

The problem is that Windows and Linux use different formatting 'language'. Some versions of Linux can read FAT32 and NTFS formatting and some can even write them but Windows is pretty much stuck as is. Registry changes probably won't help. At least that's the way it always worked on one of my computers, now has Linux-only on it.

It's best to consider Windows and Linux [and Macintosh and Unix] as competing technologies.
