I have a laptop that was originally setup for a different user. Some of the software was already configured so I have been using the original users account.
To customize my setup, I was able to modify the user name for this account via the admin tools. But I have not been able to rename the folder that this account is pointing to (C:\Documents and Settings\user1). Is this possible?

I've noticed that too on my daughters PC. She is always changing her account name. I don't think you can change it from the original account name when it was created. A workaround would be to creat a new account and then delete the user1 account. After you creat your new account and before you delete the old one go to start, settings, taskbar and start menu. Go to the start menu tab and select "classic start menu" and click the customize button and then click the advanced button. Now you can move all your start menu programs and destop icons from user1 to the "all users" account or the account you just created. I beleive you have to logon at least once for your new user account to show up. When your done you can switch back from "clasic start menu" to XP's "start menu".
PC performance buffs have long measured hardware advances using a few simple metrics: Is it faster? Is it bigger? Does it have more blinky lights?
