hotspot security (WXP-Pro)

usually stay at a place where they have a wireless connection hotspot but they never setup the wpa securityat their end, how can i protect my info..

i got norton internet security 2003, antivirus 2003 and just bought latest anonymous surfing and using a netgear 32 BIT PC cardbus WG511T.. will all that hide my information from the hotspot and other users nearby or do i need some other software????

I would reccomend not using that hotspot.If someone is running that with no WPA or WEP then anyone could totally exploit all information that is being passed.For all you know someone could be running ethereal or tcpdump.
