Hi,
I do create a user and assign a Password to this user. Later on, I delete this account. Now each time I restart my computer, the Window Logging session is displayed even if there is no user account.
How to I get rid of this window and get back to the old boot sequence without any logging banner asking to selecta user and give a Password
Thanks a lot in advance.

Go to Control panel-->Network-->select "Windows logon"-->OK-->don't reboot yet. Now, Start button-->Find-->Files-->type: *.pwl-->delete (or rename with another extension) all the files found... Again Start button-->Run-->sysedit-->OK-->in the SYSTEM.INI file, go to the [Password Lists] section and put a semicolon (;) at the beginning of each line of the section-->Save the changes and reboot... Windows will ask you one more time for the username and password, in the username field type whatever you want and left BLANK the password field...

I tried the procedure you supplied. I keep having the same Panel asking to enter a Username and Password even if there is no user account (I deleted already all the defined users). I have to select the "Cancel" button to continue theWindows logging session and get the Home Panel. The "OK" is grayout.

THE SYSTEM.INI file contains the following lines before rebooting the system:

[Password Lists]
;PCHOME=C:\WINDOWS\PCHOME.PWL
;SUPERVISEUR=C:\WINDOWS\SUPER002.PWL

What 's Wrong ?

Thanks again for your help.

1.-Disable the <a target="_blank" href=http://support.microsoft.com/kb/156826/en-us>User profiles</a>
2.-Did you delete the "*.PWL" files?
3.-Make sure "Windows logon" (nor 'Family logon' neither 'Network logon') is enabled in the network properties
4.-Did you set an username with a BLANK password?

Great, It works after disabling the User Profiles.
I'm a biginner and the only person using my computer. Really I do not need to have this Window Logging Panel
displayed each time I power on the system.

Thanks again Mono and the Forum community.
