For some odd reason, the background images and colors fail to load on both Internet explorer and Firefox.

I am talking not only about pictures, but also the default colors (like black or blue) and even background templates.

My computer is free of spyware and a relatively new machine. The oddest part of it is that it is both IE and firefox that it is effecting. could this be a much deeper setting?

I would me much appreciative of any ideas, as I am completely confused how this happened.

I have included a screen shot of a website and how it displays to give you an idea. Since MSN is pretty well known, I used it.

Something must have just gotten messed up with Internet Explorer.

While in IE, go to Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced (tab). Click on 'Restore Defaults' at the bottom. Click on the Programs tab. Cick 'Reset Web Settings', and click yes.

Restart your computer.

Hope that helped,

I tried everything listed in the thread and still no background colors. I also have this problem with MS Publisher. I am running XP-Pro on a Dell Inspiron 6000. Please help

I got this from support Mozilla
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Website+colors+are+wrong :

Windows settings

Windows has settings that can affect the display of web pages in Firefox.
High contrast

Ensure that Windows is not in high contrast mode.

1. If Firefox is running, exit it.
* From the menu at the top of the Firefox window, select File and the Exit menu item.
2. Open the Windows Control Panel.
* (Windows Vista) Click the Windows icon and choose Control Panel.
* (Windows XP) Open the Windows Start Menu, then choose Control Panel.
3. Open the Accessibility dialog.
* (Windows XP) Double-click Accessibility Options.
4. Click on the Display tab.
5. Make sure the checkbox beside Use High Contrast is unchecked.
6. Press OK. Start Firefox and see if the colors are now correct.
