Hello.
I am Windows XP SP2, Internet Explorer 6.
How can I temporary disable support for JAVA and Flash only, in Internet Explorer?
In Opera for example you can easily do that by click on a button.
Thank you.

With IE you have to change Internet security zone settings for that. There is now fast and easy way to do it. It could be easy to write a script for this, but the problem is how to tell IE that it should re-read its registry settings.

I have added some new security zones for my IE. Normal internet security zone settings does not allow activex at all and running java script is prompted. So normally I don't execute javascripts on any sites. After I have checked what kind of scipt the site has, I might add the site to one of my special security zones. That works well for me. I don't have to suffer unwanted popups or scripts who try to download spywware.

Thanks motoflop,
I agree, it isn't easy to use security zones for that.
I decided to use Manage Add-ons option. It works and it’s fast.

I just read from one computer magazine that there is an extension package for IE6 named Avant Browser. The article said that extension pack supports easy filtering flash player among other things. I haven't tried that package myself. See link http://www.avantbrowser.com/, if you want to try it.

Thanks a lot motoflop,
I have decided to simply deactivate it via manage add-ons option.
