I'm getting Windows popup message after I bootup:
mschkdsk.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
After installing and running Registry Mechanic, the problem still persists.

Hi,
This maybe some help, it work for me when my system files are missing.
You may want to perform a System File Checker to check whether the file is damage or not. Go to below link for instructions.
Window XP

Windows 98, SE or Me

by the way I think RM only fix Registry, not FILES. (after I contacted them)
The way Registry Mechanic work is clearing up unused registry entries in your computer's registry. This might then improve the performance of your computer
There are many reasons why a computer will not work properly, and not all of them are related to your system registry. As Registry Mechanic focuses its attention solely on the registry, it cannot address problems which may be occurring elsewhere in your PC, and therefore may be causing your system instability.

It may be a corrupted file...or try hitting start then click on run when the box appears type in msconfig. Then go to startup and check that list the one that keeps haunting you may be there and part of an old program. Just un-check it and re-start your computer....goodluck
