Windows Startup menu

I have a laptop running Windows 98. I don't know what happened, but everytime the computer is started the windows 98 startup menu comes up. It defaults to "Normal". Where is this controled and how can I disable it? Help greatly appreicated.

I found the answer to my question. I needed to alter the MSDOS.SYS file. I had to change the BOOTMENU=1 to BOOTMENU=0. I have no idea how it change.
