Made a real big mistake last night preparing for a presentation... while using DCOMCNFG on a fresh Windows 2000 PC, I mistakenly clicked right on the "default security" tab instead clicking a COM object I was going to demonstrate.
I removed _ALL_ of the "default configuration permissions" and are unable to put any back ("You have been denied access to some resource")
I was logged in as myself, which is both a box and network administrator.
Logged out and logged back in as box administrator (local domain).
Ran REGEDIT and could not see any nodes off the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT tree. Ran REGEDT32 and could not open the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT tree either.
Rebooted and restored "last known good configuration". Didn't help.
Tried re-applying service pack 1, nothing.
Any thoughts or ideas???
Thanks,
Greg
