Hello, everyone!
On regedit.com I found a tweak for giving more physical memory to my CD/DVD-ROM drive. I did that tweak. But, now, when I insert a CD/DVD disk, it like stop in the middle of the info transfer! Is like stop completely, then resume to full speed, stop and then, resumes to full speed. And doing that time, Windows is frozen, waiting a response from my DVD-ROM! I think it was that tweak that I did on the Regedit. But I try to find that tweak, but is not their anymore. I need help, big time. If any of you know whick key to go and to set it to the default settings, please, please, let me know. I will be very glad you did so. Thanx! Guys!

Restoring your registry to a version before you made your changes might help. Shut down and wait a good 30 sec before powering up again. During boot up, hold down the Ctrl key. This displays the Win98 Startup menu (assuming you're using Win98 OS). Choose item number 5 - Command Prompt only, then Enter. At the C:> prompt enter scanreg/restore. This should display a list of registry backups ...choose the version before you made your registry changes. Note that you have to choose a registry backup that was made BEFORE you edited your registry. Hope that helps.

Win 2000 is exactly like NT in this matter. When you are booting, and it tells you to press space bar now (this is how to do it in NT, I beta tested 2000 and went back to NT and forgot exactly what to do), do that. Then the option to boot to the last known good profile, select that option and continue booting. This boots from the last known good registry.

Yes, I know. But when I made the Regedit change. It was a long time ago. And that back-up have been delete it. Does anyone in here knows what was the tweak, I think it was like this: "To give more physical RAM to the CD-ROM drive, to this tweak." I think that's the one, that make's my DVD-ROM drive to stop. So anyone knows what's the tweak?? I will really, appreciate, I am desperate!!!!!!! Thanx! For your help!!!!!
