My daughter just moved into her own apartment for college. I hooked up her computer and found there was 5 wireless connections in the area. Is it dangereous to connect to a wireless network that is unknown in the area? or should she just get her own service like comcast?

Thanks in advance
A father who is trying to save money for her daughter but concerned about safety of her computer

Wireless Router can be set up for WEP on, or restrict wireless cards (MAC address). If she can connect to other wireless network, that means the other people didn't propect their wireless network. But if she has her own, just set up your wireless router with protection so no one can get into it.
