Hi. I don't know much about registry and would like to know what that key can be used for:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\UserAssist\{LONG ALPHANUMERICAL STRING}\Count\

I am also looking for the area in the registry where a program in "trial mode" could store it's information about the installation date and what it would look like. Thanks.

Many folks would like to avoid paying for a useful program if only they could locate that particular key.

The maker's intentionally hide that key so that nobody can modify it.

If you need to extend the trial period because you did not have enough time to completely evaluate the software; do contact the maker explaining the same and they are likely to provide you with a key that will allow you to do so.
They do want you to see the value of their efforts so that you will contribute to support them.

Regards,
Bryan
