Currently I have all my users' "MyDocuments" folders redirected via group policy to \\server\userdocs\%username%. I'm going to be moving the entire userdocs directory to a different server. Do you think I should physically move the directories after hours and change the policy to the new location or redirect the users back to their local profiles, force a policy update, then redirect them to the new server?
In other words should I move the directories directly from oldserver->newserver or should I move them from oldserver->user's machine->new server?
What do you think? Does it make a difference? Anyone actually done this before?
