When I rebooted rcently after a freezeup, it came up with a new window message 'had to read from alternate registry' with on ok button. I 've never seen this before. Something must've happened to the registry and it read from a backup of some kind. Anyway, it bascially set me up with a new identity with a new user folder and the desktop came up different and everything has to be recongifured like Outlook etc. Is there any way I can correct the original registry that must 've faulted? The SYstem Restore now only goes to the date this happened.
