batch file close on Exit (W98)

I created a batch file. And I have multiple operation system. My XP is working fine when I run this batch file because it will close on Exit. however, for win98, when it executives, it just stays there like the top of the tool bar. It said finished. I know I can right click on properties and have it close o exit. But how do I set the registry so that it will close on exit instead of having me clicked on it?
