I have connected an Epson CX4600 printer to my laptop via the USB port. The laptop is on Win2K Pro OS.
The printer performs well in all cases (it prints from any app) but it does not show up on the "unplug or eject hardware" display. So whenever I turn the printer off or unplug the USB cable to attach another peripheral, I get the warning window that tells me I should have "unplugged or ejected using the unplug or eject hardware" method.
Any ideas on how the printer can be shown as attached hardware?
Thanks

I've noticed the same with my HP Printer and have come to the conclusion the printer is not classified as a Removeable Device like a camera, thumb drive, etc., doesn't normally get disconnected. Haven't seen a problem unplugging it other that what you see.
