Ever since I overclocked my AMD Athlon XP 2500+, my computer seems to be hanging at random intervals for no reason. I have plenty of sufficient cooling, as the processor sits happily at a pleasant 44.0°C.
I had originally overclocked it to be at 2.09GHz, but I keep lowering the FSB every time it hangs (haven't messed with the multiplier). The last setting at about 1.98GHz just hung my computer without even being at a medium processor load (it was 4-5% processor usage at the time).
After I reboot the system after it hangs, the CMOS appears telling me the processor settings are incorrect, although they work perfectly well through strenuous applications such as 3DMark03 and Counter-Strike: Source.
In advance I appreciate any assistance given on the matter.

My motherboard also has no heating problems whatsoever. It would also not explain why it would hang at light load randomly and not during heavy loads.
As well, it seems to have stopped doing it. I have it overclocked to 2.101GHz, and it is suffering no problems. I still have no idea what was wrong with it, but it's not doing it anymore, so I don't mind too much.

When I start my computer. The computer either beeps continuously or starts up, but before I get to the login screen, a page comes up saying a clocking failure has occured. Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?
