Ending a network between two computers (WXP-Home)

Hi, today I managed to set up a network between my computer and my mother's laptop. I want to disable this because I just find it useless now. Anyone know how to delete or disable the connection between the two? I used the wizard in my network places to set up the small network.

And on a totally different note, there's a document folder that appeared after I did this. Everytime I try to access it I get "Access Denied". The location of this folder is in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\. My Shared Documents folder dissappeared aswell. How can I get fix this?

I am trying to set up the network - laptop & desktop via crossover cat5 cable. They do not see each other (no AV or FW software running).

Both are WiFi internet connected via a router, but I want this cable connection for troubleshooting something else.
