If you have win 98 and need to reinstall just fallow these steps to get the key you used to install windows the first time!
1 open regedit (run, regedit)
2 go to the fallowing dir ,HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HK EY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\HKEY_LOCAL_MAC HINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
3 look for prodect key and there you have it!
