Hi all,

I have tried reseting IE 6 settings & done netsh command. removed AVG antivirus...disabled windows XP firewall.......

Still not able to view secured websites...especially banking, insurance websites...rest able to view other normal http pages...

someone mentioned before this could be due to port 443 blocked...he had also mentioned how to unblock ports....but forgot to note it down.....

Please help!

Warm Regards,

Eijaz Sheikh

Open IE and go to help => about IE and check to make sure your cipher strength is 128 bits. If it's not you will need the IE high encryption pack. Other than that check to see what your security settings are.

Tools=> Internet Options=> Security Tab. If it's set to "high" you could try moving the slider down. Or try adding your banking sites to the "trusted zone".

hi,

Thanks for replying. you wrote...
"Or try adding your banking sites to the "trusted zone".

Are you sure this would work out & let me access my banking sites?

What i mean is...is this a tried & tested solution...it will not block me permanently to access my banking sites if i add them to the trusted sites....???

Warm Regards,

Eijaz

You can remove them again if you wish. Putting them in the trusted zone means that the slider doesn't apply to those sits. They use that zones (trusted sites) security settings regardless of where the slider is. There is no guaranty that this will work, it's just something to try.
