Hello,
My computer seems to be dragging lately. It seems like there is something running in the background. I bring up my program box and it only says Explorer and Systray. When I go to my system information and look at running programs it says 17 things are running. Is there any way to shut them down if they are not showing up in the program box? I check over and over for spyware, clean the registry, clean my internet files...temp files etc.... I run my virus scan and I find nothing out of the ordinary. Please give me some advice. Thank you in advance for any info.
Rach

Type msconfig in the Run window and select the Startup tab. All entries start at boot-up and run in the background. You need to know what each item does before disabling. StartupList identifies most items.
