when i type in a web address to internet explorer and hit go it doesnt move or go at all . stays on the previous page which is my homepage. everything is typed correctly

You should check for spyware/virus. And repair your IE as well

It depends on which version of Windows and which version of IE you have.
If you have Win9x thru Win2K and you have a version of IE that is greater than the version that was shipped with the operating system then you can go to Start, Run, msinfo32, Tools, Repair Internet Explorer or go to Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs; select Microsoft Internet Explorer, Click on the Remove button and you will be presented with a popup dialog box asking what you want to do and one of those options is "Repair".
