Changing color (W98)

In IE when I have used a site or section it would change colors, usually purple, to show I've been there. Why has it quit doing this? There is still purple there from previous use so the whole thing hasn't cleared.

If you clear/delete some of your History then that portion will show as not yet visited.

Otherwise, perhaps you just need to hit the Refresh button.
