Hi I'm wondering why every now & then the "Links" toolbar will automatically put itself in my IE next to the Address Bar! plus in the favorites pull down menu it will put a "Links" folder too .... It really bugs me .... I realise we simply right click IE browser & uncheck Links. I'm more concerned with why this is happening ... Any help appreciated

Hey, Hally ...

It's one of Windows little eccentricities. Happens to me periodically, too and mostly in conjunction with running chkdsk. I just delete it and move on ... haven't found a fix yet. /images/forums/icons/smile.gif

Tom I've got a fix that actually works for you & anyone else whose sick of this re-occurring Links Folder Grrr ..... Its simple & Affective!

Open your registry & find this key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar Set the value of "LinksFolderName" to a blank string. Just double click "LinksFolderName" & clear the box then hit OK

Open IE & delete the Links folder from the Favorites menu. The next time you start Internet Explorer the Links folder will not be recreated. Yippee ... /images/forums/icons/smile.gif ...

"Gee's Tom I like the sound of your computer Power plus huh!!!"

Thanks, Hally ... It more than gets the job done even though it not an "extreme machine" by MaximumPC standards. But, it's a stable system and doesn't over heat.
