Remote Desktop (WXP-Pro)

I have a small home network with a Netgear router and a desktop and laptop. I installed remote desktop and enabled it on the desktop and installed the client software for remote desktop on the laptop, When I try and connect to the VPN, it says that the "Error 800 cannot connect to virtual private network", Please help.

I assume you have SP2 installed for XP? If so, is the inbuilt firewall enabled?? If it is, disable it. This can sometimes cause problems.

I have it on and cleared the don't allow exceptions, I also tried disabling it all together, and still have the same problem.

What kind of VPN connection are you using?
