I have an old laptop that had Dos and windows 95. somehow lost something. When I turn it on, Dos comes up, seems all the files are there......but windows does not come up. So I am trying to reinstall windows, put it in the CD but the computer does not recongize the D drive....I type in (in DOS) setup, and tried Win 95 setup and nothing happens. How do I get the windows CD to install again. There are loads of files in the Dos directory. Am I entering the symbols wrong in DOS? Like' C:\dos or (this is after the prompt) D:\setup? Anyway, I am ready to throw this out but realize it probably is a really simple stupid thing. Any help would be helpful to me...thanks

Download a <a target="_blank" href=http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm>Win98 boot disk</a>, start the computer with that disk, then you type:
d:\setup
to run the setup from the CD

You must change the boot sequence in BIOS for boot first from the floppy...
And I don't remember if the command is setup.exe or install.exe...
