Hi,

Regarding the ip address reservation, where do i go and reserve the ip address for the MAC address?

I have checked the router's homepage but there doesnt seem to be ip reservation features. For the LAN section in the router's home page, there are dhcp lease time, ip pool range and dhcp server enabling/disabling but there is no reservation of ip address.

The router's webpage also has WAN,wireless, filters and forwarding sections.

So how do i go and reserve an ip address for ther server?

In generally you don't reserve ip addresses from router. You just configure static ip adddress to your server and check tht same address is not used elsewhere.

Some dhcp servers can fix ip address to specific mac address. So when client with specific mac address requests ip address, dhcp server gives predefined ip address instead of next free address.

Reserving [associating a ip address with a mac address] is a normal funtion when you want to use dhcp but only have particular addresses to particular devices.

I do ip reservation [reserved ip table is what mine is called] to tighten security [access]

You don't mention what router you are using. Perhaps you need a update or it does not have the feature.

It depends with the router. What are spec or your router?
