I'm posting this for my uncle. He's got all the updates on his computer.
Problem:
Whenever he tries to get into expedia.ca's flights section a page loads that says scripting is unavailable. It also shows how to fix it.
Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom Level and says to enable scripting. Then to refresh the page.
I've tried it but it still won't load. Any ideas? I've tried setting the Privacy to low but to no avail.
Also, when I try to log onto yahoo mail it gives me a page saying to go to the older version.
Any help is appreciated.

Is your <a target="_blank" href=http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp>Java software</a> current?

Well, my uncle's java script is up to date. However going on the expedia.ca website leads to the same conclusion.
Here's exactly what the screen shows:
_________________________________________
Please activate scripting
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scripting must be enabled before you can continue. To enable scripting, you need to make a simple adjustment to your browser settings.
Click here if you need more help with your browser.
After you have enabled scripting refresh this page.

Open Internet Options and select the Security tab. Highlight the Internet Zone icon and click the "Custom Button. Scroll down to "Active Scripting" and place a tick mark in Enable. Also, enable the two scripting items just below it ... one deals with copy & paste and the next with Java Applets.

Hey Tom:
Thanks again for the reply.
I actually did that and tried to refresh the page and it did no good. Scripting is enabled, yet I still get that "enable scripting page".
I thought maybe the Norton Anti-virus software was the problem, so I tried to disable the scripting option on it. That didn't work.
Any other ideas?

Strange. What Security Level is set? Hit the Custom Level button again and set to Medium (if not already set) and Apply & OK.

The security level is set at medium.
I've tried lowering the security level (I set it at medium-low or low then click reset>it prompts me if I wish to do that and I click yes>then I click apply). After doing this I check custom level again and it's set at Medium. Is that normal?
I'm really out of ideas here.

No, if you re-set it to Low it should stick.

Hmmmm. That's weird. When I reset it to low and check the custom level again it remains at medium. Could that be related to the scripting problem? Or is that a problem in itself?
