View Full Version : Some network folders are empty, they shouldn't be (WXP-Pro)

Been having this trouble for a few months now. All xp pro machines on the network, sp2.

when i browse to some of the folders shared on another computer they are empty. Some have files in them like they should, others dont show the files at all (though i know they are there, having checked by sitting down in front of the other machine)..

This seems to happen randomly, and to and from each of the machines. ie A can see most folders, though some are 'empty' on B.. and vice versa.

I have searched high and low on google for a solution, and can't believe that the problem is unique.

any help is incredibly appreciated.

regards

Simon

I assume you have checked file permissions. Check also Event Viewer if there are any related messages. Maybe the reason is problem with network connections, for example cable problems or perhaps even firewalls dropping network packets.
