View Full Version : Lost internet access all of a sudden (WXP-Home)

I really have no clue this time. I was doing something on the net. All of a sudden, I got socket error on my email notification error. Then I can't browse at all.!!

Do you think it is my modem problem? I reset both dsl modem, router, computer and I am still having problem. I tried to use other computer to log on. I got same problem. The only thing I did was to forward a port of 6888-6999 of my 192.168.1.100. that's about it.

The modem seems to be fine. Line problem? What other thing you think it could go wrong just like that???

-Look for the modem's logs
-Look for the router's logs
-Ask your ISP for "forbiden" ports
-Ask your ISP for help...

Yeap, I finally checked with my isp, and guess what..

the problem is my phone splitter. That went bad just like that!... there was no trace on how it went bad....


After I took it out, reset both modem and router. Everything works fine now
