I am trying to share files over a wireless network in windows server 2003. I have a 2Wire 1000SW DSL modem with built-in weireless routing and the host computer is connected to it via ethernet connection. I am able to connect to the internet on the client computer but unable to see the shared folders. Also, the client computer is a laptop running XP Home. Please help.

Many thanks in advance.

I'm afraid it is impossible to join Windows XP Home Edition systems to a Windows Server domain. See Windows XP Comparison Guide.

BUT it doesn't have to join the domain to use the servers shares.

User has to have a valid account on the server and it has to be the same as the one using on xp home. Workgroup name needs to be the domain name on the pc.

yes, that is correct, no need to join a domain
