Here is a strange one. I am on a network were I can ping and browse any computer on my network (5 PC’s). I have a DLINK DI-804HV router connecting me to the net via a wireless link. All other machines on my network can browse the net, ping the gateway etc, yet my machine cannot ping our gateway or browse the net. When I ping my gateway I get an error "Hardware Failure", yet I can ping the internal IP of the router but again I cannot ping the external IP of the router. I have uninstalled and re-installed my network card, yet no change, I am completely FOXED !!!. Any help would be most appreciated. Botswana

have you looked at all your TCP/IP settings set you ip right and subnet mask if your router's gateway is 192.168.1.1 set you ip to 192.168.1.*
make sure your DNS addresses are in place aswell

all checked, in fact apart from a MS update of framework net 1.something, the machine worked great the one evening, however when I came to work the next day all this started. Even has the network lads from my ISP are stumped
You dont have the router set to block the IP of that machine do you? I sometimes do that with my home network.... block one machine's access to the internet.
