Problem installing windows ME (WME)

Hi

Can any one help? I am trying to reinstall windows Me on a Pentium 3 866Mhz, Dell Dimension L866r computer. I have formatted the drive and ME will install up to 35% and then it just sticks!

I have replaced the CD drive taken the PCI modem and PCI Sound card out, this makes no difference to the installation

What about the memory?

Try doing a complete scandisk to the drive you might have a Bad Hard drive on your hands

Sorry I tried another Hard drive!

I changed the memory but that was worse, it reached 15%.
I must mention that the onboard Graphics card was not working properly before the reinstall, the reason for the reinstall was that the computer was an old one I had and I was giving it to my daughter and also I knew that the graphics were dodgy.

Check your media or cd-rom. My OEM CD's get used so much that I often have to have 2 or 3 handy to get a complete install.
