I have a peculiar problem with drive mappings, that have been mapped through logon scripts to windows XP desktops. I have the first network drive mapped to F:, however when I insert a USB memory stick into a USB port it maps the memory stick to F:. I am not sure why this is happening, has anyone come across this problem.

It seems to be local drives get lettered before mapped drives. Might be why WinXP maps network drives beginning with Z: and works back up the alphabet.

I wonder if changing/assigning a different drive letter to the USB device in Device Manager or Administrative Tools might work?
