Hi everyone,

IE crashes when accessing Internet based websites. (IE has encounter unknown problem and must restart)

Win98, IE 6. I have run several spyware/antivirus including hijackthis. System is clean. Ran system file checker, activeX check, reg check, scandisk, IE repair, Office repair, Norton System Windoctor, re-installed IE 6, re-installed Windows (overtop). Removed google bar.

IE is fine when I browse websites created on my hard drive including sites with java and flash. All other software running OK including internet based apps such as "putty", "cuteFTP", virus and spyware updates. Windows updated regularly (until now).

Any further suggestions are greatly appreciated.

some files are corrupted. You may have to do windows updates besides reinstall ie.

Also, try netscape or fire fox and see if you have problem. If not, could be some corrupted files not got overwritten when you reinstalled

Thanks for your replies.

IE offered no additional help in resolving this issue. (IE has encountered an unknown error). I did try installing Netscape which encountered the same fait but with some help. When Netscape crashed it offer a "pagefualt in module nzdd.dll" error. Turns out nzdd.dll isn't a file you want on your system anyways. I removed all reference to the file in my Reg file and deleted the file in "C:\windows\system32" directory and all is once again well.

Again, thanks for your replies and the help you offered!
