I'm going to post this here and in the Windows XP forum because I'm really not sure if this is a network problem or an XP problem. Here's our basic layout.
We are currently running several servers as DCs using Server 2000 with Active Directory. We also still have our campus computers setup in workgroups instead of on a domain. We've made no modifications to the servers other than Microsoft updates since the first part of Feb.
Now here's what's happening.
Users will try to connect to the network thru My Network Places, and they maybe able to make an initial connection. After that they get one of two messages. 1. "Unable to browse the network. Not enough storage to complete the command"
2. "XXXX is not accessible you may not have permission to access this device contact your System Administrator. Not enough server storage to process this command"
This problem started occuring in the middle of March and we've checked the Microsoft site plus several forums. All suggestions that we've found have been checked. As I said there have been no server changes made since last year.
One more piece of information this is not a problem if your PC is on the Domain orrunning Windows 2000 or Mac OS X.
If anyone has any idea of where to look Please help.. this has gone from an irritation to critical.
Joining the Domain has been mentioned but I've been told not right now.
