connection problems (WXP-Pro)

My computer is having some issues, and I think its developing from Norton Internet security. When the computer starts, it says it has full internet connection, or sometimes it will indicate the connection is limited, but yet it won't allow the internet explorer or any other internet programs to work. I can disable Norton and then then iexplore will work, but no other programs...such as AIM, and etc... I think these programs are being blocked but I have no idea how to fix this, anyone have any ideas?

First of all, are you using wireless network?

I often had the problem. For some reason, if I disable WEP and it will work. Or, I had to manually DNS number instead of DHCP. Maybe you can try that.
