I will try to make this quick, you guys are a great bunch of people and I don't want to make you read a long story about my issue... Here is the thing:

I have a dynamic (standard non-static IP) Cable connection that I currently use (via a standard Network card), and I have a wireless card installed but not currently assigned to use any internet connection. My roomate has a dynamic (standard non-static IP) DSL connection which he shares over wireless.

I want to know if there is anyway for me to utilize both my Cable connection and his wireless DSL connection on my computer at the same time? The only thing I am not willing to do is buy another piece of hardware (i.e. another router). Is there anyway to do this? I would REALLY appreciate it if anybody could let me know. It's okay if the connection would be limited (i.e. bandwidth could only be combined for download, not for upload, etc.), I just want to be able to combine/simultaneously use these connections on my computer in whatever way possible.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks so much!

TiM

In other words, you want to use his dsl and your own cable connection...

All you have to do is to set it up on your wireless network card. It will pick the connection you set for default. However, if you have another Lan card, you can still hook it up to your own cable. As far as internet goes, it will go according to the connection you attacted.

I have tried mine with 2 network cards (one pci and one wireless), both detect the connection. However, due to some set up of my wireless card, I had to piug the pci card in to make internet work.

Of couse, if you want to network to other pcs, it will have to do something with your network setup, subnet mask, gateway and so on. Of course, if you want to access both at the same time, both isp router set up must have same gateway number, or you will have to keep switching back and forth.

You could setup two default gateways. From a command prompt you use the "Route" command. Just setup two separate 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 lines. With any luck it might try to use both.

You could also section off the internet by IP address and have one set of addresses use one gateway, while other addresses use the other.
