View Full Version : PC crawling (W2K)

When i put a cd or a dvd in one of my drives the pc is effectivly turned from a 1.75ghz pc into a 486! Why is this happening? I have had the same problem with xp and iv just installed 2000 to try and get rid of the problem but it has happened again! Any ideas apart from use linux instead!

How about it has nothing to do with OS but your hardware configuration if two OS's have exactly the same problem.

i doubt it. it worked fine on suse linux and it seems to be a problem after i install sp4 on 2000 and i dont know when on xp.
