dumb question but have been trying to get rid of the gateway screen that shows up on this gateway computer when you first turn on the system i would like to put my own picture there instead of the gateway screen ????????????????????????????

Presumeably you're talking about some kind of screen that shows before the Win startup screen. I have the same kind of thing on my Dell laptop--It's coded directly into BIOS, so I'd say forget about changing it.

If its a newer Dell, there may be an option in the BIOS for Enable Logo (which you have) or Enable boot diagnostics (which lists all the components loading instead)

Well I know that the IBM when you flash the BIOS with a new BIOS it lets you change the logo, I would sudgest to go to the gateway web site and find some info on BIOS update.
WARNING!: Flashing your BIOS with out the need of it and not doing it right can result on ruining the PC and then you would have to either buy a new motherboard or if the bios is replasable buy a new one.
