View Full Version : Disable Show Files in W98 SE
Everytime I browse to the Windows directory it hides the windows folder contenets, and prompt me with worning messages. How can I disable that annoying feature?
Thanks
Hi,
I'm still waiting down the queue. Any ideas are greatly apreciated.
If its what I think your talking about, got to the windows dir after the warning click on view then uncheck the "as a web page" button. Then follow down to "folder options> view" and tick if not ticked the "remember each folders view settings".
Ps, AMJ2 your last post on "Windows98 international", quote "Do you have a solution or not?" is absolutly rude.

You need to edit the hidden file "folder.htt" that resides in the windows folder.
I had a quick look but don't have time to figure it out, but its something to do with making sure that the ShowFiles function is *automatically* invoked. Which *seems* to be related to whether the showFiles variable is set to true.
Good luck, but BE CAREFUL!
