I want to set up a WinXP home SP2 system with three accounts.
One is for my grandchild who is disabled and we cannot communicate with speech. He is 9 years and learning sign language. but he loves to play games and tutorial things on the PC.
How can I set up his log in so when he comes to his desc he will only find the icons to the pre installed applications. He should only have access to these and not to the task bar with the Start => Programs etc...
How can one create an Icon that will log off and shut down after he has finished his gaming???
All this without disturbing his brothers account or his fathers account (Admin)
Any support in this is apprec.
I am not a pro and need detailed support in this if possible.

Sound likes you need to create short and put it on the desktop for that young boy. Just right click on the program where you find it on start -> program, then, do copy and go back to your desktop and do paste short cut, that will create icon for you.
As far as quick shutdown goes..., you can download one of the programs online. many of them are pretty good. Just search for quick shutdown on google.com
*** Sometimes Helping is a way of Learning! ***
To create a Shutdown icon, right click the desktop and choose New > Shortcut. In the target box type %windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s then click next then finish

DanK and homeflas
Thank you both for input to my problems.
I have managed by various tweakings in the registry to meet my target.
But I can tell it was scary to mess about in the registry.
Little Erik can now log in to his desktop, find all the pre-installed icons there to run.
He can go to Start=> Log out or Shut down.
Nothing else can now be done from his desktop.
Anyway I hope, he is a very clever young man so you never know
Thank´s for support in this matter

Well I am back again.
Need additional support.
As I mentioned in my previous post I was sure I had done my task but.... There is one thing left to tweak.
When little Erik is at his desktop He can open the task bar and there he will find the Start button and the LogOff etc.
There is also to be found his login picture and name.
When double klicking his Login pic. a new screen opens where he can play about with changing his login pic. and he can also go into screen settings.
I need help to stop him from using the task bar with all this settings.
I have created a LogOff button on his desktop so he does not need anything else.
Hope to get support to finalise my security task for this LokalUser = Little Eric.
Regards
Michael
