windows maximized

Whenever I start IE or any other program its never
maximized. Is there a way to get the windows to
default to maximized ? Or at least just the web
browser.

You can get IE (or others) to open initially maximized by putting a shortcut to it on the desktop, right-click choose properties, and under the Run drop-down box choose Maximized.

If you have the Quick Launch bar, edit the shortcut here.

Then to get other windows "almost maximized" in Internet Explorer, try this:
When the windows opens, drag the borders, top, right, bottom, and left to the size you want (almost filling the entire screen). Do not use the maximize button.

Now choose File>Close, don't use the X in the top right corner. Go back to the page you just opened the new one from, choose View>Refresh and now click the link again, it should open to the size that you just closed it from.
